How to Invest

Investing with Startly Portal is easy!

1.     Join

Click 'Join' in the header and complete the know-your-client fields to the best of your ability. Note that all information is secure and kept in strict confidence. If fields are left blank, we will complete them together during the telephone intake call.

2.    Book a Call

After submitting your know-your-client form you will receive a welcome email inviting you to book a telephone intake call to review and finalize your know-your-client profile and to discuss the investment you are interested in and its suitability for you and your portfolio. Please have a government issued photo ID (other than health card) and, for corporate investors, the Articles of Incorporation or a current Corporate Profile ready.

3.     Login to your Account

After a successful intake call you will a) receive an email to digitally sign your completed know-your-client form; b) be granted access to our investor portal, and c) be provided with an investment suitability recommendation based on the nature of the investment and the particulars of your financial situation and existing investment portfolio.

4.    Sign the Subscription Agreement

If our recommendation is that the investment is suitable for you and your portfolio, we will upload the subscription agreement and other important investment materials to your portal account. Upon your request, we will also send the subscription agreement to you for digital signing via email.

5.     Self-Directed Trades

If our recommendation is that the investment is not suitable for you but you still wish to proceed, you will be required to additionally complete a self-directed trade form which will be on the second page of the suitability recommendation.

6.     Send Payment

Upon completion and submission of the subscription and other required materials, you will then need to follow the payment instructions found in the investment materials to send your payment to the issuer or its lawyer/escrow agent. Startly Portal does not receive or hold investor funds for any reason.

7.     Confirmation

The issuer will then review your completed materials, confirm receipt of the funds, and, subject to any provisions in the materials, issue the subscribed for securities and provide notification of the same. The acceptance of subscription is at the discretion of issuers and is carried out independently of Startly Portal.

If you encounter any problems or have addition questions, please don't hesitate to contact us by email or telephone.
